We are excited to announce that GSD Gulf Structural Design is now the certified reseller for IDEA StatiCa in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region, effective September 1, 2024. To provide more insights, we are sharing an interview between Jan Barta, Channel Manager at IDEA StatiCa, and our Sales Manager at GSD, Prakash Naluri.
Jan:
Prakash, can you explain what this change means for IDEA StatiCa customers in the region?
Prakash:
Our team has worked closely with Tech Assist’s previous management to ensure a smooth transition. The entire Tech Assist team responsible for sales support and invoicing remains with us, so our customers will experience continuity in service with the same familiar faces. Essentially, aside from the new name and logo, there will be no immediate changes from the customer’s perspective.
Jan:
That’s reassuring to hear. How does GSD plan to enhance its services? What are your expansion strategies, and which countries are you targeting?
Prakash:
We have ambitious growth plans for this region. To support these, we have established a new legal entity in Dubai Mainland, which gives us a solid base for further expansion into the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and other GCC countries (Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain). Additionally, we will be supporting nearby countries such as Jordan, Lebanon, Yemen, Syria, Iraq, Iran, and parts of Central Africa.
We are also actively expanding our team to better serve our customers. For example, we’re currently hiring for a Technical Manager position, which is crucial for elevating our technical services and support.
Jan:
As the certified reseller, what additional benefits can customers expect from GSD?
Prakash:
Becoming a certified reseller is the ultimate step in our collaboration with IDEA StatiCa. This status allows us to closely cooperate with their headquarters, giving us access to their experts, technology, and exclusive training. This means we can offer better and faster support, more comprehensive training programs, and deeper engagement with the structural engineering community in the region.
Jan:
How do you see these changes impacting structural engineers in the GCC in the long term?
Prakash:
In the long term, our expanded presence and enhanced capabilities will greatly benefit engineers. They can expect even better and faster technical support, along with a wider range of training options. Additionally, we plan to introduce IDEA StatiCa’s technology to young talents through university collaborations and engage more closely with industry associations to streamline project approvals. Our goal is to make structural engineering in the GCC more efficient and innovative.
IDEA StatiCa has produces a lot of significant innovation in recent years. Engineers love using it. Projects like One Zabeel, the Museum of the Future, and the Expo Entrance Dome were designed and calculated with it. Their biggest customers include Eversendai, Tiger Steel, Zutari, Assent Steel, and Tony Gee.
We at GSD are excited about this new chapter and are fully committed to supporting the structural engineering community in the region. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to grow and enhance our services. If you’re interested in joining our team, check out the open Technical Manager position here.
